This project proposes a 5 storey, 100% employment (office and industrial), carbon sequestering mass timber, Net Zero Carbon building in downtown Squamish, BC with an accessible roof terrace, a dramatic cantilever and a clean modern industrial design aesthetic. Charcoal metal siding and high performance glazing are the primary exterior finishes, with accents of wood siding to add warmth and rustic tones to the ground level. The ground floor is designed with beverage production in mind, with a rolling door, patio terrace and operations mezzanine. The surrounding landscaping will convert the existing stormwater ditch into a rain garden or bioswale. The project provides much needed space for employment within the downtown and does so in a compact, attractive and sustainable building.
